Tokyo!!!!!

What an amazing city! We have been blown away by the organised chaos of Tokyo and the busyness of the streets and trains. After the smooth bullet train ride yesterday, and a glimpse of Mt Fuji, we checked into our hotel in Ikebukuro and went off to explore. Pretty cruisy day after our trip up.

Today we kicked off an action packed day starting at the famous Tsukiji Fish Market. We made our way through the market district and then through the main fish processing area. Hundreds of fish are auctioned off there every morning to the highest bidder to be served at restaurants across Japan.

After that we did what all animation lovers do in Tokyo...... visit the Pokemon Centre in Hamamatsu-Cho. It was officially Pokemon madness!!

To round out our afternoon we visited the famous Shibuya Crossing and one of the main shopping districts in Tokyo. Hundreds of people cross Shibuya Crossing every time the little green man lights up! The kids got to experience crowded sidewalks and very busy shops and were wowed by the neon billboards and signs.

A couple of my friends who live in Tokyo came and caught up with us and helped us around a bit which was nice. One of my friends, Tomoko, booked us a restaurant for dinner too which made our dinner plans much easier as you can imagine walking off the street and trying to get a table for 16!

Then a jam packed subway ride back to our hotel and it's lights out.
Our last day in Tokyo is going to be another exciting one. We will make the most of it for sure!

See you all soon.
Matt.
